Review
In Mahjong Quest you will be helping Kwazi – the protagonist of the game – to find balance in his life. You must guide Kwazi through each of his seventy two years by helping him to choose wisely.
The game offers several modes to play. Here we will describe those modes briefly. The first mode to review is the Freeplay Mah Jong mode. With over six hundred classic style boards, Freeplay mode has something for everyone. You can choose from Classic Normal, Double, or Triple sized puzzles or test your skills with the Triple or Quad match puzzles.
The second mode is Tournament Style, which is Classic style Mah Jong with a uniquely competitive edge. Play head to head and see how your skills compare with people from all over the world.
Besides the previously commented modes, you have available some Variations. Slight Mah Jong rule changes that you won’t find anywhere else. Extreme Mah Jong, Mah Jing, Half and Half, Brain Teasers, and sample puzzles from Quest I and II (previous editions of the game).
The goal of the game is the following: you must clear the board of tiles by matching them off in pairs. However, you can only select tiles which have at least 1 side free, and which have no other tiles on top of them. In the Kwazi’s Quest mode, each time you complete a level you take another step in the quest.
When you enter the game, you reach the Main Menu, with the following options:
- Kwazi’s Quest: to start playing the game in this mode.
- Freeplay: to play any board you like.
- Tournament: to play and compare your skills with other players.
- Variations: to play special Mah Jong boards.
- Players: you can create several profiles to share your game with family and friends.
- Options: you can set the music volume, sound volume, and full screen.
- Rules: to see some information about the game.
- Quit: no further explanation required.
